light and sky

What a gorgeous summer weekend we’ve had.  As children & teachers ready themselves for the launch of the new school year, and the shops reflect the coming season, I’ve been cherishing that endless summer feeling, reminiscent of my own childhood.  I remember days upon days of sunshine; cycling through woodlands, swimming and sandcastles on the beach.
There must have been rain, and days of that childish ‘I’m bored’ but of course those aren’t the memories I preserve and recall with naive fondness for a simpler time.
Childhood memories can be triggered by the smallest thing: the sound of seagulls waking me in the morning, the smell of salt and sun on my skin or the way light falls in a forest.
