in the nick of time

At this time of year it is so easy to find yourself in a bit of a slump, it’s not all bad to simply curl up on the sofa with a good box set and munch on comfort food such as roast veggies & chocolate.  Not together.  That would be weird.  But I feel that this sense of retreating indoors can perpetuate a laziness in myself, a reluctance to attend the myriad birthdays that occur throughout January or commit to a social engagement until I’ve checked what the weather is doing, not to mention motivating myself to get out and take some photos or sort out dark room access.  Luckily I shall be forced into action this evening as I embark on another course at Central Saint Martins.  More photography based learning as that’s what I’m loving, and I’m really looking forward to it!  Just to be back in that environment again has me excited and anticipating a renewed focus on my reflection project.  Banished is the inaction & over-indulgence of Christmastime 2013.

2014 stretches before me, like a blank canvas; no plan, no paint by numbers so I guess I’ll be making it up as I go!

  1. I feel in the same way! A bit lazy with the start of the year. We share a passion for photography and I’ll also try to improve my technique in several courses during this year. Great reflection! xoxo
